- …All the Blanks must be correctly filled in, and the Ticket must be legibly signed with the Christian names and surname and address in full of the party issuing the same.
- …The day of the month on which the Ship is to sail must be inserted in words and not in figures.
- …When once issued this Ticket must not be withdrawn from the Passengers, nor any alteration, addition, or erasure made in it.

I engage that the person named in the margin hereof shall be provided with a Steerage Passage to, and shall be landed at, the Port of Adelaide, South Australia, in the above-named Ship, with not less than Twenty Cubic Feet for Luggage for each Statute Adult, and shall be victualled during the voyage and the time of detention at any place before its termination, according to the subjoined scale, for the sum of………………Nil………………including Government dues before embarkation, and head money, if any, at the place of landing, and every other charge, except Freight for excess of Luggage beyond the quantity above specified; and I hereby acknowledge to have received the above-mentioned sum in full payment.

Stephens……… LONDON,……… May 25th 1876 The following quantities, at least, of Water and provisions (to be issued daily) will be supplied by the Master of the Ship, as required by law, viz., to each Statute Adult Three Quarts of Water daily, exclusive of what is necessary for cooking the articles required by the Passengers’ Act, to be issued in a cooked state, and a Weekly Allowance of Provisions according to the following scale:-
The water is, as far as possible, to be distilled water. In the tropics the Surgeon may issue a larger allowance provided the supply will admit of it.
Children between one and four years of age are to receive alternately preserved beef and mutton instead of salt meat every day, also half a pint of preserved milk, and every alternate day one egg. Children under one year old are to be allowed 3 pints of water daily; and if above four months old, half a pint of milk daily; also 3 ounces of preserved soup, and one egg every alternate day, and 12 oz of biscuit, 4 oz of oatmeal, 8 oz of flour, 4 oz of rice, and 10 oz of sugar weekly. To Infants under four months old, the Surgeon may issue such nutriment as he may, in any case, think necessary. The Surgeon may draw an additional quart of water daily for the use of each person sick in the Hospital. While in any port of the United Kingdom, or in any port into which the vessel may put before completing the voyage, and for two days after sailing, and while the Emigrants remain on board in the port of disembarkation, three quarters of a pound of fresh meat, one pound and a half of soft bread, and one pound of potatoes, per Statute Adult, are to be issued daily (if obtainable), with a suitable supply of vegetables, in lieu of all the other Rations, except tea, coffee, sugar, butter and cheese. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
- …If Passengers, through no default of their own, are not received on board on the day named in their Contract Tickets, or fail to obtain a passage in the Ship, they should apply to the Government Emigration Officer at the Port, who will assist them in obtaining redress under the Passenger Act.
- …Passengers should carefully keep this part of the Contract Ticket till after the end of the voyage. If lost, no second Ticket will be issued.
