After 12 days unloading in Company’s Basin, the City of Adelaide sailed from Port Adelaide on 2 September 1876, reaching Port Augusta via Point Lowly (near Whyalla) on 9th September. She discharged some cargo at the moorings, then steadily loaded the bulk of her shipment. She sailed from Port Augusta on 31st October 1876 and arrived in London on 9th February 1877, a duration of 101 days.

Crew List
This crew list is held by the Maritime History Archive, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.
Frederick Higgs, one of the apprentices, deserted while the ship was in Port Adelaide. He pleaded guilty in the Adelaide Police Court on 4th September, and was ordered to be sent to the vessel at Port Augusta.[1]

Cargo List
The following cargo was loaded at Port Adelaide for London : 2,208 cakes of copper and 1,487 bags of copper ore fom the Wallaroo Smelting Works, and 17 tons of bark from G Young.[2].
We have no record of the additional cargo that was loaded at Port Augusta.
